Goa nightclub Birch's co-owner Ajay Gupta tried to escape arrest by faking an injury, NDTV reported. Gupta faked a spinal issue and reached the Institute of Brain and Spine in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar but his escape attempt failed after police foiled his plan, the report said. He had reportedly planned to stay hospitalised for 3-4 days to buy time.
