'Godzilla dust cloud' travels 8,000 km from Sahara desert to US

A massive dust storm from Sahara desert engulfed parts of mainland US on Saturday, travelling over a distance of 8,047 km. The 5,600-km-long cloud was dubbed 'Godzilla dust cloud' by climatologists. An animation of images gathered by NASA satellite shows the dust plume streamed from Africa's west coast over the Atlantic into Caribbean Sea and up through Gulf of Mexico.
