Golden eagles to be reintroduced in England after 150 years

Golden eagles could return to England after over 150 years, with the government approving an additional £1 million to explore their reintroduction. The species, mentioned over 40 times by poet William Shakespeare, was nearly wiped out in 19th century by farmers and gamekeepers. The move follows a study by Forestry England finding England can sustain the golden eagle population again.
