In a now deleted X post, OpenAI VP Kevin Weil claimed GPT-5 found "solutions" to 10 previously unsolved Erdős mathematical problems. However, Thomas Bloom, who maintains the website for them, said Weil's post was a "dramatic misrepresentation". While Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis called the situation "embarassing", Meta's Chief AI scientist Yann LeCun said, "Hoisted by their own GPTards."
