A coalition of 42 US attorneys-general wrote a letter to Google, OpenAI and other AI firms demanding better testing for chatbots. "We…insist you mitigate the harm caused by sycophantic and delusional outputs from…GenAI and adopt additional safeguards to protect children," the letter read. The companies are asked to conduct third-party audits of LLMs to look for signs of sycophantic behaviour.
