Google is asking new publishers to join a new AI programme that promotes their content in AI Overviews but requires allowing the tech giant to use their content to train AI bots, The Information reported. However, publishers who decline to participate may eventually lose payments they currently receive through Google's Showcase programme. Google said it continues to renew Showcase agreements.
