Google co-founders tried to sell company for $1 million in 1999

Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin were willing to sell their search engine for under $1 million in 1999 to internet portal Excite, who rejected the offer. Currently, the market capitalisation of Google parent Alphabet is over $858 billion, making it one of the world's most valuable tech giants. Google was incorporated 20 years ago on September 4, 1998.
