Google develops tool to watermark AI proteins for biosecurity

Google DeepMind has developed "SynthID Bio" that embeds detectable patterns into AI-designed proteins without affecting their function. The tool aims to help researchers identify proteins created by AI and improve biosecurity. DeepMind said the watermark could support monitoring of AI-generated biological designs and help address potential risks from AI systems used in biological research.
