Google Doodle on Wednesday marked the opening of the 2016 Summer Paralympics, being hosted by Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The games which started as a small gathering of British World War-II veterans in 1948, now draw 4,500 athletes from 176 countries. Rio de Janeiro is the first Latin American city to host the Paralympics, which will end on September 18.
