Several Google employees were using video-conferencing platform Zoom in 2018 and some Google Cloud engineers even discussed acquiring Zoom later that year, The Information reported. They even calculated the unit economics for the service if it ran on Google's servers, the report added. However, a Google spokesperson told The Information that the company never "seriously evaluated" acquiring Zoom.
