Google AI Research and DeepMind released VaultGemma, a privacy-focused 1-billion-parameter open-source language model. It is the tech giant's largest open large language AI model trained entirely from scratch with differential privacy. VaultGemma addresses concerns about memorisation attacks in AI, where sensitive information can be extracted from systems trained on web-scale datasets.
