Google invests $1 billion in exchange firm CME, strikes cloud deal

Google has invested $1 billion in futures exchange operator CME and has struck a separate deal to move its trading systems to the cloud. Under 10-year partnership terms, the exchange operator will begin moving its technology infrastructure to Google Cloud next year. Google's $1 billion equity investment was in the form of non-voting convertible preferred stock of CME.
