OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Google is leading the AI race, The Information reported, citing the firm's leaked internal memo. Altman admitted that Google’s progress with its new Gemini 3 model could "create some temporary economic headwinds for his company". He, however, encouraged his employees to remain confident, reassuring them that OpenAI would soon emerge as the AI race's leader.
