Google launches EmbeddingGemma 2 open multimodal model

Google has launched EmbeddingGemma 2, an open multimodal model ranging from 270 million to 740 million parameters. It supports coding, multi-data tasks, and uses Matryoshka Representation Learning for efficiency. Licensed under Apache 2.0, it runs locally for privacy-focused apps. CEO Sundar Pichai called it the standard for on-device efficiency.
