Google has announced a new subsea cable system linking the Maldives, Australia's Christmas Island and Oman to boost digital connectivity across the Indian Ocean. The project, named Dhivaru, aims to support the company's AI services. Additionally, Google will also build two connectivity hubs to deepen the resilience of the internet infrastructure in the region.
