Google prepares to test AI computing in space with TPUs

Google is preparing to take its artificial intelligence computing infrastructure beyond Earth with a new satellite-based experiment under Project Suncatcher. The company plans to test whether its Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), the specialised chips used to power many of its AI workloads, can operate effectively in space.
