Google's Gemini 2.5 was made to play Pokémon by independent developer Joel Zhang, where the AI chatbot was seen panicking. Taking 800+ hours (over a month) to finish the game, Gemini 2.5 also found it difficult to analyse and use the raw pixels of the Game Boy screen directly. The model was also seen ignoring common sense in some situations.
