Google shuts down its banner ad experiment

Almost after a six month trial, Google on Wednesday announced the discontinuation of the ‘banner ads in search results’. That banner ad program - debuted in October of last year - had led to public outcry, as Google had previously promised to never include banner ads in its search results.
