Google on Thursday signed an agreement with a group of French publishers over copyrights under which the US tech giant will pay news outlets for content online. In a first for Europe, the principles agreed upon include criteria such as daily volume of publications, monthly internet traffic and "contribution to political and general information", the two said in a statement.
