Google has announced that it will be shutting down its hyperlocal social media platform called 'Shoelace' on May 12. "Given the current health crisis, we don't feel that now is the right time to invest further in this project," the company added. It also said that it has no plans to reboot Shoelace once mandated social distancing has ended.
