CaratLane Founder Mithun Sacheti said Tiger Global proposed its investment in the jewellery startup via LinkedIn and initially, Sacheti thought it was a scam. He said Tiger Global ex-Partner Lee Fixel sent a message saying, "CaratLane is of interest to us. We'd love to talk to you." "Who calls you and says I want to give you money?" said Sacheti.
