The government has banned the export of sugar from India amid domestic supply concerns. The order prohibits the export till September 30 and applies to raw, white and refined sugar, while allowing exports to the EU and US under CXL and TRQ quotas. The government had earlier allowed restricted sugar exports on the expectation of surplus production.
