Government sells ₹1,150 crore worth 'enemy shares' in Wipro

The government has sold enemy shares worth around ₹1,150 crore in IT services firm Wipro to LIC and two other state-owned insurers. "Enemy properties" refer to assets that once belonged to people who went to Pakistan and China and are no longer citizens of India. The sale proceeds will be deposited as disinvestment proceeds with the Ministry of Finance.
