Government to ease funding regulations for NGOs

The government has reportedly proposed to relax its foreign funding rules for NGOs. According to the suggested amendments, an NGO would be granted a Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) licence automatically, if the Intelligence Bureau does not complete its verification within three months. The new rules also propose simplification of bureaucratic procedures for smoother functioning of NGOs.
