The government on Saturday appointed Arijit Basu as Managing Director of India's largest lender State Bank of India. He will fill the spot left vacant following the elevation of Rajnish Kumar as the Chairman. Basu, who has a bachelor's in Economics and master's in History, started his career with the bank almost 35 years ago as a probationary officer.
