The government on Friday appointed State Bank of India (SBI) Deputy Managing Director, Ashwani Bhatia, as the Managing Director of the bank. He will continue as the bank's MD until his retirement on May 31, 2022. Bhatia, who has worked with the State Bank group for 34 years, has been appointed in place of PK Gupta who retired in March.
