Government-backed Indian startup Avataar AI launched Varya, an AI model that can generate videos 10x faster than its competitors. Avataar plans to charge ₹0.48/second of video on its hosted service, far cheaper than models like Veo, Kling and Runway, which typically charge 20x more at ₹9.5/second of video. Varya can recognise cultural nuances, including food, clothing, festivals and architecture.
