The government has prohibited the manufacture for sale, sale and distribution of 16 Fixed Dose Combinations (FDCs) for human use over safety concerns. An expert committee found the FDCs lacked therapeutic justification and that their continued use was not beneficial against the risks involved. The banned FDCs span dermatological, analgesic, antispasmodic and antibiotic-based formulations.
