A state-owned Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) bus operated without functioning headlights, forcing the conductor to use a mobile phone torch to help the driver navigate the road. Opposition parties slammed the Congress government in Karnataka over the incident, saying that the driver risking lives of people was because of the administration's failure.
