NITI Aayog ex-CEO Amitabh Kant, talking about India's startup boom, said it was possible because government officers cut through "regulatory cholesterol" and simplified regulations. "The toughest thing was to get order...that none of these labour laws...will apply to startups," Kant said recalling preparations of Startup India program's launch. There were just handful startups in 2016, he added.
