Employee unions met with the 8th Pay Commission on Tuesday to discuss their demands and initiate consultations. According to India Today, the unions demanded a fitment factor of 3.8, along with an increase in the minimum basic pay to ₹69,000 and the restoration of the old pension scheme. The unions also demanded a change in the calculation of salaries.
