Himachal Pradesh government employees will now get salaries on the fifth and retired staffers will get pensions on 10th of every month. CM Sukhvinder Sukhu explained, "[State gets] ₹520-crore revenue deficit grant and ₹740-crore share in Central Taxes…on 6th and 10th of every month, respectively." Hence, for paying salaries/pensions on first, state takes loan on "unnecessary interest", he added.
