Govt explains reasons behind depreciating value of Indian rupee

Depreciation of Indian rupee during current financial year is influenced by increase in trade deficit and ongoing developments in India-US trade agreement amid weak support from capital account, MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said. Various factors such as the movement of Dollar Index, trend in capital flows, level of interest rates, and movement in crude prices also influence the exchange rate.
