The government is exploring a proposal to remove or reduce the 11% customs duty on cotton imports, textiles ministry Trade Advisor Bipin Menon said. "There is also a discussion on whether we can do it temporarily for the lean season," Menon added. The ministry is also seeking the withdrawal of the 2.5% customs duty on rayon-grade wood pulp, he said.
