The government on Tuesday extended the tenure of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman, Ravi Agrawal, by six months. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved Agrawal's reappointment as Chairman, with effect from July 1 until December 31, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He was appointed CBDT's chief for a one-year term in June 2024.
