The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Saturday approved the reappointment of Ravi Agrawal as Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for a one-year term starting July 1. Agarwal, a 1988 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, will be on a contract basis. He was appointed as the chief of CBDT for a year in June 2024.
