The government has reportedly constituted a six-member committee to oversee the sale of 149 oil and gas fields of state-owned ONGC, Oil India and other explorers. The panel, headed by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar, includes Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha and Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg. The fields will be sold to private companies to boost domestic output.
