The government has imposed stock limits on wheat applicable to traders, wholesalers, retailers, big chain retailers and processors for the first time in 15 years. It is aimed at managing overall food security and preventing hoarding. Effective from Monday, the limits will be in place till March 31, 2024. A stock limit of 3,000 MT has been imposed for wholesalers.
