Govt issues notification on sale of analogue product as 'paneer'

FSSAI has issued a proposal meant to restrict the sale of an analogue product as "paneer". "Products already licensed or registered under the 'Analogue in Dairy Context' category shall discontinue the use of the term 'Paneer' in their nomenclature, labelling, or marketing," the order said. Analogue paneer is not made from milk but from vegetable fats, starches, and chemical emulsifiers.
