The central government is likely to hike the dearness allowance by 3% to 45%, PTI reported. At present, more than one crore central government employees and pensioners are getting a dearness allowance of 42% as compensation for rising prices. The government had last revised the dearness allowance from 38% to 42% earlier this year which was effective January 1, 2023.
