The government has allocated ₹60,000 crore to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme in the Union Budget 2023. The slab has been reduced by 32% from the revised estimate for the current fiscal at ₹89,400 crore. The allocation for the scheme was reduced by 25% in the previous Budget.
