The government is reportedly considering providing Air India employees with the option of joining other public sector companies, as it moves ahead with the airline's privatisation. The possibility of Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) for the employees is also under consideration, reports said. The government has now allowed up to 49% foreign investment in Air India with government approval.
