The government has reportedly drafted legislation which could place blanket ban on real money online games. As per current draft, the government will prohibit anyone from offering online games in India, failing which they could be imprisoned for up to three years and penalised ₹1 crore. Those promoting such platforms, such as influencers, may also face jail time and penalty.
