The government is likely to cut spending for this financial year by about ₹2 lakh crore to keep fiscal deficit within "acceptable limits" as it faces a revenue shortfall of ₹2.5 lakh crore, reports said. The deficit is likely to be kept under 3.8% of GDP, reports added. The government spent about 65% of the year's expenditure target till November.
