short by Vaibhav Gupta / on Monday, 29 August, 2016
The Social Justice Ministry is working on proposals to relax the annual income limit of 'creamy layer' OBCs to ₹8 lakh against the present ₹6 lakh limit, according to reports. Around 27% seats in government jobs and educational institutions are currently reserved for OBCs having an annual income below ₹6 lakh. Reportedly, only 12-15% of the quota gets utilised now.
