The CBI caught the Executive Director/Regional Officer of National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) accepting a bribe of ₹10 lakh from a person in Guwahati. He was accepting the bribe for issuance of favourable extension of time (EOT) and Completion Certificate for a national highway project. ₹2.62 crore cash was also seized during the raids at his premises.
