Govt orders Sun Pharma to halt eye-drop production at Assam plant

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation and the Office of the Drugs Controller in Assam ordered Sun Pharmaceutical to stop manufacturing, selling and distributing eye-care products made at its Assam facility. An inspection identified lapses in systems meant to ensure product quality and safety. The action followed Sun Pharma's voluntary recall of around 11 eye-care brands in July.
