Govt orders telecom operators to offer 30-day recharge plans

TRAI has introduced new rules requiring telecom operators to offer 30-day and shorter voice-and-SMS-only recharge options, along with a monthly renewable plan. Operators must also provide at least one longer-validity voice-and-SMS-only option corresponding to their existing bundled plans. The regulations are expected to take effect around October 21-22, giving prepaid users more flexibility.
