The Centre is planning to borrow record ₹15.43 lakh crore from the markets in financial year 2023-24, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said. The gross borrowing target for next year is 3.2% higher than FY 2022-23's budget estimate of ₹14.95 lakh crore. On a net basis, the borrowing has been pegged at ₹11.8 lakh crore for FY 2023-24.
