The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has placed an order for 118 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) Arjun Mk-1A for the Army with Chennai-based Heavy Vehicles Factory. The order is worth ₹7,523 crore. "The state-of-the-art MBT Mk-1A is a new variant of Arjun Tank designed to enhance fire power, mobility and survivability," MoD said. This order is expected to generate 8,000 jobs.
